The 2015 Rossmoor Community Festival was a huge success. It was a beautiful day and guests came early and stayed late enjoying all areas of the event.
Senator Janet Nguyen, Assemblyman Travis Allen and County Supervisor Michelle Steel all made appearances giving brief welcoming remarks to the crowd. Golden State Water Co. was on hand giving out free conservation kits and offering tips on how to safe our precious water.
West County CERT and the RHA Emergency Prep Team were on hand to answer questions about how residents can prepare for both natural and man-made disasters, when the first responders are likely to arrive (surprising to most people the answer is 2-3 days before fire/medical first responders arrive on average following a wide spread disaster event), and how residents can learn more.
Vendors were spread out all along the winding sidewalk and beyond with booths offering a wide selection of products, services, and non-profit opportunities.
Kids had a great time on the rides including the rock climbing wall, dual lane slide, extreme jumper, adrenaline obstacle Course and for the little ones the pony ride and sunrise express Train.
The food trucks and other food vendors were quite busy and enjoyed by many. Day long entertainment included Elvis aka Gary Anderson from Coastline Auto Care, Chris Anderson Band and On Stage Dance Studio Dancers. “Mosaic” Band closed out the day.
Classic Car Show
There were over 90 entries in the Classic Car Show, the most ever. Everyone from the local area showed up along with the usual car clubs including OC PT Cruisers, Silver FOX Car Club, Cool Runnin Camaros and Chariots of So. Cal. New this year was the OC Hearse Car Club.
The dog parade featured a great variety of dogs in elaborate costumes and some performing impressive tricks. Judging was a challenge with so many creative entries.
The Rossmoor Community Festival is made possible by our fantastic sponsors. The event sponsor was Leitner and Associates with additional high level support from Centers for Family Medicine, News Enterprise, Sun News, Alpine Mortgage, OC Breeze and many others. This event is hosted annually, on the first Sunday in May at Rush Park, by the Rossmoor Community Services District and the Rossmoor Homeowners Association.
